Here is where I'll post various illustrations relating to the material.
Cadavolsolvator (corpse dissolver)
The Cadavolsolvator was inspired by vulture bees, since the concept of converting carrion to stored nutrients seemed so morbidly cool.
It "stings" with it's tail, releasing the contents of one of the "cells" visible in it's abdomen to dissolve biomechanical carrion, then absorbs that material into the filled cells visible within the midsection, where the energy is stored for use in confrontations. This process is similar to how a fly feeds.
Propels itself through the air using jets on its back, using the faint appendages on mounted on the shoulders for rebounding capacity against surfaces.
Uses a similar corrosive material to the tail mechanism within the right side spray-jet, which, combined with the claws, can quicky unhinge for a cleaving attack, as well as revealing the base of the spray-jet, which fires with less precision in a wider cone for close-range engagements.
left side incomplete.
"Deframer Fiend"
A creature with few goals beyond taking things apart.
What do all the strangely-shaped devices on its arms do? Anything you can imagine, to the end of "deframing" the target.
"Glider"
Flicks its wrist quickly to strike with the foreblade and backblade in succession.
Generally propells itself through the air at high speed, or along other surfaces when necessary/ to reserve energy output.
Guiison
The "antlers" are a structure of antennae for communication and sonar reception.
Guiison generates a great deal of thermic energy while moving, which is expelled through the shoulder and chest vents, as well as from the top of his head.
His limbs can extend significantly, as well as contract back into the torso if needed. The head and antennae also exhibit this function. This is useful for minimizing body size while tunneling rapidly.
While only visible on the left side, both arms contain a series of metallic spikes, which can be launched as projectiles by tilting the wrist towards the inside.
Prototype: Kabacta
A minimalist, proof-of-concept illustration of Kabacta, one of the main protaganists throughout the story.
The object attached heavily to her left arm is the namesake Kabacta Rifle, a nearly-perpetual motion weapon of immense destructive power. It fires any stored materials in projectile form, and energy captured from the recoil of each shot resets the barrel, to be transfered to the next one.
On her right arm, several plasma blades are mounted in a system of supports and servos which allow for rapid, omnidirectional movement of the blades within Kabacta's immediate vicinity.
Kabacta-S
A more compact, modular version of Kabacta, previous to her designing the feared Kabacta Rifle.
Her arms are attached via mag-lev, which is also the mechanism allowing for the plasma blades on the left to be spun rapidly. Can extend arms away from the torso to a range of about 20 meters.
The faint and semi-transparent assist-arms branching off of the shoulders are used to latch on to ceilings, walls, and in melee combat.
Malavel
An aquatic biomech, which propells itself primarily using the six bladed fins which sprout off of the torso, by moving each of the three sets vertically in turn, for forward motion.
The spherical device suspended below the torso is a compression turret, capable of swiveling 360°, and rapidly firing pulses of water/ice/other accumulated material at high velocities.
Can clamp on to targets or other objects using the horn structure present on the head.
The Rat Catcher MK3
A former jailer turned mercenary, some habits are slow to fade.
The four branch-supports sprouting from the shoulders can be plunged into walls, ceilings, or other surfaces, allowing the Rat Catcher to remain suspended in wait, in order to ambush targets. Behind them, extensive sonar devices are mounted.
The signature attack involves bear-hugging the target, then releasing the two sets of heavy blades down from his shoulders, to tri-sect (cut in three) the unfortunate victim. The branches can also be used for this technique, in order to free up arms.
This is only the upper-half of his detachable torso, which is fully capable of operating on its own.
The third iteration of the Rat Catcher frame showcases a menacing grin, fashioned intentionally from a series of necessary face-vents.
"Ridge"
An early (syntech-wise) biomech, developed by a relatively low-ability individual, around the advent of Spoon technology.
Its left wrist is covered by an extensively sharp and durable blade, to be used for both blocking and striking during a melee confrontation. Ridge's tri-ocular design ideally allows it to have the perceptory advantage in these situations, allowing it to keep track of the opponent's limb movements with precision.
Densely-organized harvested muscle tissues in the semi-organic thighs allow for superhuman lower body strength and endurance. The mechanical braces adorning the sides push this ability even further.
Sandsifter
Occupying desert areas, Sandsifter pulls in sand from the intake-vents on the underside, heating it to the point of liquidation within its torso. From there, sand is expelled with precision as glass projectiles from any of the four sandcannons located on four of it's limbs, or as a liquid out of the large vents on its torso or arms. By timing the moment of liquidation, release, and carefully managing the temperature of the glass, the Sandsifter can rapidly create many forms, such as walls, barriers, structures, and traps for a variety of utilitarian purposes.
As a practice quite inherant to its body design, the Sandsifter frequently submerges itself within the dunes, for purposes of travel or ambush. When submerged, it senses any movements above or below by the vibration sensors located atop its head..
The fourth sandcannon is at the end of its left-middle arm, simply ran out of space to depict it.
If no sand has been run through its system for a short while, it expels the excess internal heat via the central chest vent.
Spring Chicken
The modules hovering above its head, shoulders, and blade, can be sent out to provide visual support, for purposes of reconnaisance, or provide vantage and information regarding optimal angles of attack during combat.
Ever the scientist, the needle at the end of Spring Chicken's right arm is used to extract tissue samples from flora, fauna, and its opponents alike, to the end of rapidly innovating its own form to create advantage during battle.
Careful and precise internal management of bodily fluids allow it to temporarily decease and resuscitate its own tissues, as necessary for experimentation or tactical use.
Immense biologically-derived lower body strength in the base configuration, although these tissues can easily be displaced.
"Wisp"
Travels rapidly through nearly any environment using its fabricated plasma membranes.
While typically an observer rather than a combantant, Wisp is capable of reallocating its plasma into a variety of forms.
Many components, such as the attached lower body, can be discarded without compromsing overall function.
Moabita
Moabita come in many shapes and sizes, and are released as the scouts of the Woamita herd. No two are identical.
This one has numerious legs of varying length attached to a rotating disk on its underside, allowing for high-speed locomotion across surfaces of any type by successive calculated striking of limbs with the proper length and direction. The tail can also whip out to assist in this movement, or function as a counterweight.
The energy weapon on its left is primarily used for demolition, although it too can assist in steering.
Woamita, The Energy Constrictor
The Woamita are a class of higher-dimensional beings responsible for human's Mass Migration from the earth, after it became a feeding ground. Scientists inadvertantly attracted the interdimensional herd by creating an excessively prolific algae in the search for a superior food/ fuel source. The public believes the Woamita appeared simply to terrorize them.
Woamita live in a pattern known as the 'interdimensional herd', traveling through an unknown amount of realms in search of sustinentence. Their origin, internal mechanisms, and sphere of influence remain unknown, only that they emit frequencies which could only be mechanically derived.
Not all Woamita exhibit the same abilities nor shape, but many are similar to the one depicted here, with a churning, windsock-shaped body, outfitted with many appendages dangling from its base. All Woamita-class interdimensional entities are excessively massive in size, and believed capable of warping, in contrast to the dramatically smaller Moabita-class entities that they release.
Visual of a Woamita approaching the atmosphere
Woamita are not believed to be inherantly malicious, notably demonstating a preference to consume organisms of lesser development and cognitive abilty rather than more-sentitient beings.
They clearly possess intelligence in some form, but do not make any discernable attempts at cross-species communication, remaining largely indifferent to the actions of humans.
There appears to be a 'void' or barrier of some kind in areas beyond the third dimension within the New System, which is why it was chosen as the sanctuary destination for mankind, following the exodus from planet Earth.
Zathrus, warping in
An oddly shaped member of the Woamita herd, demonstrating impatience rather than indifference in the face of human design, and none of the behavioral hangups regarding morality or feeding exibited by the other Woamita.
Quite possibly the most destructive entity in existence.
